Crime Alert
During the past few weeks there have been a series of serious criminal assault incidents occurring off campus in Tompkins County. The most recent incident resulted in the death of a local man and the arrest of two suspects. Although none of these incidents involve any members of the Cornell Community, we urge students, staff and faculty to remain alert and to take precautions, such as locking your doors and securing your valuables. Take advantage of programs….
We encourage you to attend one of our Personal Safety or Self Defense courses….
Please call the Cornell Police whenever you see anything suspicious, if you feel threatened, have a safety concern or simply see a need for expanded police services to meet the communities’ needs.
Cornell Police stand ready to assist you in any way possible. We can be reached 24 hours a day….
See, I’m not so sure about that. Every time I see them, they never seem to be doing anything important. They are always sitting in their cars, reading newspapers, driving around doing nothing, or just plain sleeping.
And, why is it that it takes them days to send out an email? If people don’t read newspapers, it would take forever for them to find out that someone has been killed.
Firefox Rant
So, it looks like access keys no longer work in firefox 2.0, although they do still work in IE 7.0.
Huh? Did I just say that? I’m thinking FF really hit it out of the ballpark with their updates. I checked the access keys on a few sites, and nothing, but they work in IE 7.0 here, so I’m thinking it’s just another firefox issue.
If anyone can use access keys in firefox 2.0, please, let me know.
Edit/= Site News
I’m currently writing (struggling on) a paper for school. It’s due in a week, but I want it finished by tomorrow, so I’ll have plenty of time to edit.
However, I did find a couple of really gorgeous photos of Las Vegas (I’m a fan of LV) that are public domain, so I’ll allowed to freely use.
So I plan on switching out my head banners. Spuffy fan all the way, but I want to use those pictures. They are gorgeous. So, stay tuned for Version LV. Edit: I’m also currently struggling over the new banner. You know how there’s a fine line between just enough and too much. Yea, I’m that’s where my struggles are. But I’m not really interested in trying to “fix” it anymore. It looked really great in Photoshop.
It only took a month, but I am #3 in a Google search for Corinne.

Are you policemen like those in the Simpsons then
?
Your policemen sound…productive. ;x
Maybe the lack of access keys support was a mistake? And FF’s ‘people’ will realise their mistake and fix it?
I can’t believe I’d live to see the day that IE had one over on FF, lol. :p
Lol. I can’t believe it either. Let’s just hope they are still working the bugs out.
Haha, your security sounds like they’re working very hard. It always annoyed me at my school how they have those little golf carts when it only takes about 3 minutes to get from one end of the school to the other, if you walk fast enough. Plus, nothing ever happens here.
Haha… our campus police don’t really do anything either. Though once, I witnessed one give a broken down car a jump-start. Ah, oh well.
Off topic but its slightly disconcerting coming across someone with not only the same name but also some similar personality traits! Luckily I’m a year older, an Aquarian and live in England, otherwise it would be too weird.
Lol. Too funny, I saw my name (without my link) and I was thinking, when did I do that?
Nice to meet you lol.
I found that RE: the access keys as well. You might want to check out this blog post – http://hannonhill.com/company/blog/2006/firefox-2.0-access-keys-bug.html.
It’s Alt+Shift+Access Key now, though you can configure your Firefox so that it’s back to Alt+Access Key. The blog explains how.
Thank you so much!
