Ok, so today, I was supposed to take the bus to go home. I go to the stop at 8:50, the bus was to leave at 9:05am. By 9:30am, the bus still had not shown up. I call the bus company, and the woman is soo rude.

All I wanted was to ask her who I could speak with about the issue, this was the station in my home town, but they all use the same buses, even though there is a transfer. “Oh, I can’t help you,” she says. “You can’t tell me what number to call?” I ask. “No, that’s the bus for Ithaca,” she says. “But, they are all Shortline,” I point out. “Sorry, but we don’t do things that way,” she interrupts, “I only speak to people from Middletown.” She blabs on and on, and I’m trying to say that that is a waste of time to make 3 phone calls when you can easily make 1.

Anyway, she hangs up on me after I tell her to give me a number of someone who would know anything because she obviously didn’t. I am then forced to speak with 5 more (rude) people before I can finally talk to dispatch and they say, “I’m sorry, but due to ‘special circumstances’ you have to make your own way down to the Ithaca Bus Terminal.”

… Ok, but the bus is supposed to leave that terminal in -5 minutes (if it hasn’t left already) and it takes what 20 minutes to get there. HOW am I supposed to get there? “I’m sorry,” and she hangs up.

I finally give up and go home, call the Ithaca Bus Terminal and they finally tell me that the bus broke down and I can take the next one, but of course she interrupts me while doing so.

My word of advice for today: Don’t use Coach Usa/Shortline buses. Their employees are rude and inconsiderate.

Friday the 13th

I just realized that it’s Friday the 13th. No wonder all this badness is going on.

oy. I don’t think I want to risk getting on a bus today. One has already broken down, and that was before 9am this morning. I think I may lock myself in my room until tomorrow.

So, the last plug board script wasn’t working well for me, so I’m using a different one, but of course people don’t write their scripts to be valid, so I’m working through the code to validate it xhtml 1.0 transitional. I’m using a shifty lol way to make it work because I’d rather not run another php code through wordpress.

I’ve given in and decided to completely validate everything, I’m specifically talking about the comments, because I couldn’t check to see if my css was still valid after the big change I made today. The issue was the warnings in the markup from the smilies code. I just took it out. You can still use smilies, you just can’t see them  .

Lol, I have about 30 minutes to decide if I still want to go, but I wouldn’t get there until like 6, and I really don’t want to waste my whole day on a bus.

I totally understand how you feel. I am always treated like nobody all the time and I don’t know why! But don’t feel too bad about it, I’m sure they (those rude people) had had a bad day too, or something that’s why they were acting like that. Maybe they got a phone call about the same situation like 500 times a day and they just don’t wanna even hear it ever again so they hang up. LOL. I don’t know. :-)

    @ Tiffany, Thanks!

I can barely remember 9th grade, but I do remember that I once accidentally pulled the fire alarm when I was with my friends (in 9th grade) we were roaming the halls because we left lunch early, and I put my hands on it.

I didn’t mean to pull it, but “somehow” it happened. 2 seconds later, a teacher came around the corner, but we were honor students, so she believed us lol.

I recommend writing an official letter of complaint to the boss about those rude people. x)
Fair enough, stuff like busses breaking down and whatever can’t be helped but the people answering the phones have no reason to be rude.
Especially not hanging up on you! >_<

I gave up with trying to validate the comments area. I like my clickable smilies too much to remove them, hehe. :P
Maybe make a popup with the list of available smilies and the codes for each one? Or maybe just make a little table around the area where someone comments?
The smilies look great here! ;)

Yea, I was considering that, but I got tired lol. The validator @ w3 did validate the comments page, but I still got warnings, thus keeping me from checking to make sure my css was valid. So I just said forget it.

@ Sabreen, yes, I am a Sarah fan, I’m probably a bigger James fan, but I would definitely say I’m a Sarah fan.

Damn that would have pissed me off (about the rude people). I can’t believe they couldn’t just transfer you to someone that could help or give you a number to call, that’s ridiculous. I didn’t realize it was Friday the 13th until late at night when my husband was flipping through the channels on tv and they were playing that movie and I was like ‘oh yeah..’ lol.
