A commenter asked why people argue over definitions, and the past 2 days have offered me prime examples. Firstly I had a debate (which I won) that was essential because it was a major part of my grade. I also had a class today in which we were discussing the role of business, and once again, the words word the key to the subject.
The fact of the matter is that people tend to manipulate the meanings of words in order to win their arguments. Moreover, this is a necessity because if you just blindly accept what people say, you’ll be screwed more often than not.
