A quick update
Just a quick update to say that finals start today, so I will be scarce over the next week (I’m done next Wednesday.
I picked the new site of the month: Infektia.net. I’m taking nominations for January.
And, I heard about this story and I thought it was ridiculous:
A woman had her son arrested on Sunday for taking his Christmas present and playing with it too early. Yes, the boy was wrong for what he did. But I agree with those that say that kids who have ADHD–as he does–are not necessarily bad kids, they just haven’t learned to control themselves yet.
It disgusts me that she wants to waste tax payers money, he has to face the “Department of Juvenile Justice officials in York County” soon, because she doesn’t know how to get help for her kid.
She said that he’s been doing bad stuff and acting up for a while now. Gee, did she ever consider that she should maybe try to get him counseling/meds/whatever instead of wasting the cities time on her refusal to take care of her own kid?
Some people may say good for her for trying to scare him straight, but considering I just heard about another boy dying in one of those reform camp thingies, I think I will disagree with that statement.
And can I just say that I really wish that TomKat (Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes-Cruise //whatever) would just disappear for at least 20 years. I don’t care about them, and it’s annoying hearing about them all over in the news.
Tom is crazy and Katie is dumb, I got it. Now please move on to something that’s actually interesting.
Edit:
Scorecard
Final #1 = Oh yeah!! This was the final that I was pretty positive I would fail. I just didn’t feel ready at all. I mean, 5 minutes before, I was still scrambling to read stuff because I was hearing people talk about things that I had read about but completely forgot.
But, I guess it is possible to study successfully up until the last minute because I think I did pretty damn well. I think there were only 2 things (worth a total of 4 points) that I wasn’t sure about. Considering it is out of 100, I think I’m good.
It was all mostly writing essays, so I feel that I did pretty well on that part.
Edit (12-09-06):
Final #2 = I did well. On Wednesday, I was completely unprepared, and on Thursday I had no desire to study, although I did intermittently. However, on Friday I did study up until my final, and I guess I studied the right stuff. My only question is my second essay because when I started it, I felt a little lost, but I think I pulled it out in the end.
2 more to go.

Good luck with your finals!
There are much better and useful ways to spend a taxpayer’s money. This kid needs other kind of help, he’s not going to come out a better kid in one of those camps.
Surely he was wrong for opening his present but aren’t there other ways to punish him for it?
She had her kid arrested for playing with his Xmas pressie too early? That’s not even *that* naughty, whether or not he has other problems.
Good luck for the finals!
Wow. That mom is completely crazy. What in the world does she think prison would do for him? It’s usually parents that aren’t up to parenting that resort to stupid things like that. It’s so sad.
Aww, but it’s the craziness of TomKat that makes them so media attention worthy. The scientology madness, the pregnancy weirdness and everything that’s gone on with them from day one has been prime tabloid materials. *laughs*
Good luck on your finals! Those are always miserable, but it sounds like you did really well on that one final. ^__^v
I agree that mom sounds completely crazy. Whats the big issue with the kid doing that? I remember seeing my presents very early at that age, because I was too excited. I don’t think my mom ever considered putting me into jail hahha.
TomKat is absolutely annoying. I don’t care about them either. They are just… blah!
I totally thought the same thing when I blogged about that article. The mother is completely irresponsible. Children are not mini adults, and we shouldn’t expect them to be so. It’s wrong and cruel to them.
Ok, and the police actually arrested the kid?? I think the police need to be placed on disciplinary action for allowing that woman to waste the taxpayers’ money. That woman should be fined for making a bogus call to police as well. I can’t believe the way some people do things and get away with them.
eventhough you think you didn’t do to well, i hope you do better on your other finals!
wow what amazing things you learn about in the news. i think it’s pretty sad.
TomKat sucks. That mom sucks. Finals suck. But what doesnt suck? Getting an unexpected break on the final you thought would suck.
Your site is gorgeous, btw.
Thanks!
I’m currently so exhausted from studying, then taking a final, then going back to the library to study for another one that I may collapse though.
Haven’t eaten since yesterday.
Well done and good luck for the rest! Make sure you actually eat and keep well hydrated though, mm’kay
?
I don’t understand parents these days. I think the mum is the one that needs help.
I read about that woman, and I have to say that I think that she has done better for her kid than other parents with disobedient and horrible kids. Sometimes doping kids up on meds isn’t the answer and sometimes there are just kids that are plain bad. A desperate parent who doesn’t want to kick the crap out of their kid needs to do something all the same, and you have to face the fact that parents have less rights when it comes to controlling their children these days…
But that’s just my opinion
Good luck with your finals!
Glad to see you think you did your exam well
let’s hope this counts for the rest of your exams too!
Ohohoh, good luck with finals!
Well what to say? some parents are worse than their supposed to be sick kids. I mean… what’s the deal about getting his son arrested? really SHE is the one who needs help, not him.
Anyway I would like to say just : good luck with your finals you’ll do good, just revise and it’ll be more than okay.
Last but not least yeah I’d like Kat&Tom Tom&kat well those annoying persons to disappear pretty soon or it’ll turn me crazy.
