People Amaze Me

Edit: Answer my 2006 Accomplishments Survey! (Link fixed)

I’ve dropped a hostee, and I do not feel bad about it.

I’m not going to name names, or give the name of the site, or give details, but I will say that as a hostee you should be grateful for what you get. Hosts are PAYING for your hosting.

They should be glad that their hosts do not force things on them, for example ads, to continue their hosting–as I have decided not to do.

The whole point of getting hosted is to be on a good server, with some good benefits, without having the restrictions of paying and having ads plastered all over.

What I don’t need is an attitude. Lirae and I agree. I get at least 10 applications a week for hosting–is that a lot or a little? I don’t know, you decide. However, over the past couple weeks, I’ve denied all but a few, and only 1 is still pending. I have the space, but I want people who I believe really deserve it.

I believe that I have been very gracious with my hostees. I’ve increased their space faster than you would expect because they have “needed” it.

I’ve been available to answer questions almost immediately so that they can make their sites work.

I have offered them support that many hosts don’t give, all that I ask is that you follow the rules. If you can’t do that, and if you argue with me about it, then I’m not going to host you.

I am an outspoken, very opinionated 20yr old young woman. I don’t take crap, and I stick to my guns. Unless you can give me a reason to not have my rules apply to you, then you must apply to them.

That’s the way of the world, if you can’t debate, step down.

Edit: A bit of a plug: Join Rouged.org!

I’ll blog later. I need to shower.

Edit// Problems resolved, I’m being nice and keeping the hostee because… we resolved the problem.

1 more final down. It went well. I liked my first essay more than the second, but I’m sure I did fine. 1 more to go.

I also wrote a little piece called The Politics of Windows on government influence in families because of a post made by Jem.

I wondered what had happened when I noticed that you’d left a comment on that rant, hehe.
I’m sorry that a hostee let you down. :( They’re just ungreatful little gits at times. x_x

I hope that shower was nice and calming. ;)

Yea, it is really annoying. I try not to get angry when people make unnecessary demands, but I can only be patient so far.

    Especially when I’m tired.

I couldn’t even enjoy my shower because I was thinking about how fast I could do it so I could get back to studying. (I had another final today.)

Aw, I wanted to know what happened, lol!

I tried hosting 1 person before. It’s a generous gift that should be appreciated. But this little bitch [if I could remember the name, I would post it, I don't care!] moved to a new host and didn’t even bother to tell me! And when I asked her what happened, she gave me shed loads of abuse and swearing at me aswell! Bloody cheek!

    Glad you resolved it though.

    Gem xx

I know what you mean. I tried hosting people for awhile. But they are so impossibly ungrateful and a large handful couldn’t even put up with their time allotted. And I gave them a good amount of time. It was ridiculous. Why both getting hosted if you’re not going to do anything with the FREE space someone gives you?

Glad you resolved it but don’t let them advantage of your kindness! After all they are using things you paid for and you’re allowing them to do so, so the least they could do is show some appreciation.

Yes, hostees should be grateful for what they get! I myself am a hostee and I couldn’t be more grateful for what Maja (my host) has done for me over the past years…
If they aren’t grateful or can’t behave, they deserve to be kicked out…

I’ve actually never thought of it that way before, hosting I mean, I’ve hosted people before but never really thought of how much I’ve actually given them. I mean, we really do pay for them to be hosted…
Anyways, I’m glad your hostee problems worked out :)

Yeah that’s really true. If you can’t debate in this world, step down. If all of your prospective hostees read this post, I’m sure they would never ever consider messing around with you and would consider your rules above all. ^^
