I fell again
I was going to post about something else, but this bears mentioning.
Today, I fell again, but this time it wan’t my fault. Cornell has some very beautiful architecture. It spends–Lord knows how many–tons of money every year building/rebuilding things, and they’ve got some great people working.
However, some of the older buildings aren’t so lucky, particularly Warren Hall.
It was built back in the ’30s, and it’s showing it’s wear and tear. And, one of it’s features, that’s supposed to make it a selling point, is just terrible.
There are marble stairs everywhere, including outside. They may be nice, but when it’s raining like crazy (like it has been today) and pools of water gather on the steps (like it has been doing today), it gets to be difficult to walk (like I found today).
So, I’m exiting, and walking very carefully, wearing shoes that are meant to be in water, and I make it down 1 step and fall down the other 3.
Now, I may have broken my ass.
OUCH!
But, I’m not going to sue or anything because it’s ok, I’ll be fine. I’ll probably limp for the rest of my life, but I’ll be fine, and I’m confident enough to laugh it off.
So goes the life of a Cornellian.
eta: I think I fixed the CSS/Javascript issues.

That is pretty much the suck. Marble, too? Ugh.
See, as nice as marble is I wouldn’t want it for a flooring for that exact reason. It might be beautiful to look at, but it’s more dangerous than anything else.
That always sucks. My university is on the beach so it’s always humid and rains some everyday, but luckily, the school’s made pretty well for rain. The only bad thing is that some of the parking lots flood when it rains for days.
Aw…That just sucks. I have the tendency to slip when walking up the stairs…but either way you get a memorable pain in your derrière (I decided to be fancy and use a French word :P).
I guess who ever designed that building was not smart enough to think about the poor university students walking down the marble stairs on a rainy day…
Heheh, breaking your ass does not sound pleasant! :O
I slip over all the time. I am covered in stupid stupid bruses.
I hope that you don’t limp for the rest of your life..
I’m so heartless. I was crying off laughter when you mentioned your ‘broken ass’.
Good, that’s what I wanted. (No really, it was meant to be a funny post.)
I feel better now, although running is a bit of an awkward experience for me.
