Mac Users are crazy

I’m currently working on a mac right now, and it has to be the most difficult thing ever. The keyboard is ridiculous (what happened to the CTRL key?!) the screen is backwards (I keep going to the right to close the browser because the CTRL key is now useless and that “other key” is badly positioned.

Sure it’s pretty to look at, but gee, all I can do is look.

I love my laptop because it doesn’t take much effort to type, but on this computer (that has to be worth $3000+ it’s so fancy), I’m banging away like crazy. It takes twice as long to type everything.

(And did I mention the CTRL key?!)

I was thinking about getting a Macbook Pro for my graduation present, but maybe not so much now.

Oh, and I’ve installed MediaShelf to replace my book reviews section because I’m no longer using that other script, but you can’t see it yet. I still need to customize, etc.

go with what you know I say. If you have the time and desire to learn the macbook. My housemate used to have one, I used it a bit and you get used to it after a while… but I am still going to stick to my windows… no apple macs for me.

Well unless they add a ctrl key. lol

Haha, yeah they do take a lot of getting used to. Just remember that when you go to press Ctrl you actually want to press the Apple Key instead; it does every function you’d expect to have to press Ctrl for on a Windows machine. Of course, the worst part is that it’s in the space of the Windows Alt key, and make no mistake if you used it for long enough you will wind up pressing Alt when you switch back to Windows. :P

The thing that still really gets me is the fact that there’s no right mouse button. I mean seriously. >_>

I have to say, though, once you get used to it (and you will; it takes time because Windows is so ingrained) you will never go back to a Windows laptop. Well, in my experience. :P I’d never have a Mac as a desktop machine (no gaming), but as a kind of fancy ‘lifestyle’ toy — internet, email, contacts, calendar — they win hands down IMO.

Haha, priceless. I had the exact same problem when I switched from Windows to Mac, drove me insane for about 3 days but then I got the hang of it, it’s actually no bother now… like anything really. Best bit about the mac and the extra key (apple/command) is how you can close things. Like, apple + Q quits the program, apple + W closes a window of something, so if you’re using tabs in your browser then it closes a window rather than the whole program. And you should check out the screen shot! Shift + apple + 4 + space bar and then click. It takes a picture of one thing rather than the whole screen (3 = the screen 4 = individual) and the screen shot ends up on your desktop under the name of “Picture”. You’ll probably learn to love Macs like I have xD

Lol, you can close things with CTRL W or CTRL Shift W on Windows as well.

It really is hard to switch to a new OS. That’s why I’m not switching to Mac even if Windows is such a putrid little thing. Maybe I should try Linux… lol
